The idea that the modern World Wide Web is contrived of only a few dozen centralized services is a bit scary to think about. Database leaks on big player web platforms just go to show that no one's safe when it comes to security holes, which makes me wonder just how long it'll be until we have another giant leak of account info from somewhere like Facebook or Google. I just wish there was more diversity in what websites were used for what needs.
